In Skyrim I'm doing a dark brotherhood mission where i have to either kill cicero or i should spare his life. what happens in the game if i choose either one?

Should I let Cicero live, or kill him like the pathetic creature he is? On one hand i heard about how great of a follower he is, but on the other hand I did promise Astrid I'd kill him, and I am a man of my word.

If you let him live, you get a unique voiced (though annoying) Essential follower. If you kill him, you get his clothing, which has stronger enchantments than the normal Jester's Clothes set. The set has no armor, but the light weight of the chestpiece and Fortify Barter might make it useful. Nothing bad happens either way, if you kill him he's gone and not a lot of people miss him.
